Tally Day Book → audit pack
Drop the Day Book XML. Get ledger scrutiny flags, a ledger summary and the full register in Excel.
IN SHORT
This free tool reads a Tally Day Book exported as XML and produces an audit pack in Excel: ledger scrutiny flags, a ledger summary and the full voucher register. It checks cash payments above ₹10,000 (section 40A(3)), cash receipts of ₹2 lakh or more (section 269ST), negative cash days, duplicate vouchers, year-end journals and more. Nothing is installed in Tally and the file never leaves the browser.
STEP BY STEP
How it works
- In Tally open Display → Day Book, set the full year with Alt+F2, then Export with Alt+E and choose XML.
- Drop the file here. Confirm which ledgers are cash and enter the opening cash balance.
- Open each check to see the vouchers, then download the audit pack: findings with a remark column, ledger summary and the full voucher register.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
- Which checks does it run?
- Cash payments above ₹10,000 to one party in a day (section 40A(3)), cash receipts of ₹2 lakh or more (section 269ST), days with negative cash, possible duplicate vouchers, large year-end journals, large round figures, material entries without narration, Sunday entries and gaps in voucher numbers.
- Does it need Tally to be open or any add-on installed?
- No. It only reads the exported file, in your browser. Nothing is installed and nothing is uploaded.
- Does it decide that something is disallowed?
- No. Every point is a prompt for the auditor. Rule 6DD exceptions and genuine business reasons are yours to judge.
